Summer Seminars: "To do or not to do, that is the question"

I've been doing seminars for many years now and have always been told that seminars don't work during the summer months, don't waste your money and time. Sometimes a myth becomes so accepted that people really believe it to be true. I'm telling you that this myth is just that, a myth. The summer months are really my favorite time of year to do seminars. In fact, I will increase my marketing efforts during this time of year. I'm in a very competitive market in southern California and find that much of my competition takes the summer off which, in my reality, makes this a very productive time of year for me. The other problem with stopping your seminar marketing efforts during the summer months is that the flow of new prospects coming to your office quickly grinds to a halt. To be a successful seminar marketer and producer, you need to keep a constant flow of new prospects going through your appointment process all year long. When you stop the flow of new folks going through the appointment process, you have to restart that flow from ground zero. I've found over the years that it can be a difficult and frustrating process to restart the flow and will really impact the rest of your year. My competition can feel free to stop their seminar marketing efforts during the summer months. In fact, I would encourage them to. That just makes the summer months and the rest of the year more productive for me.
